CLASS ETIQUETTE
CELL PHONES: Cell phones are not permitted in class
FOOD & DRINKS: Food and drinks are permitted in the lobby but not in the dance studios (please clean up after yourselves). Water is the only beverage allowed in the dance studios.
NUT-FREE FACILITY: Masterpiece Studios is a NUT-FREE facility. However, Masterpiece can not guarantee it will be free from all foods containing nuts.
RESTROOM: Please make sure your student has used the restroom BEFORE class starts.
CLASS INTERRUPTIONS: Please do not enter the studios during class. Instructors will assist in shoe changes for the little ones.
ATTENDANCE & PUNCTUALITY: Please make every effort to have your child in class promptly each week. Frequent tardiness and absences create problems for the student, the instructor, and the classmates. When unavoidable absences arise please call or email the studio before your child's class time to inform us. Please do not drop your child off early unless you plan to stay with him/her.
COMMITMENT: For each child to learn commitment and perseverance, we believe it is important he/she finish out the studio year. It is in this attitude of respect for our studio, our instructors, and our fellow classmates, we ask that you not "drop out." If there is some problem with your child's class, please contact us and we will make every effort to resolve the issue.
DROP OFF & PICK UP
Students 7 and younger must be dropped off and picked up inside the lobby and on time (please do not drop off your student more than 5 minutes early for class). Students of any age will not be permitted to wait outside the studio without a parent present.
LEAVING THE STUDIO
Students under the age of 13 may not leave Masterpiece Studios unless accompanied by a parent/guardian. If a student is between the age of 13 and 17, he/she may leave Masterpiece Studios unattended by a parent/guardian (including but not limited to times between classes) only if the student's parent/guardian indicates his/her permission in the Customer Portal under the My Student tab (for current students) or on the Web Registration Form (for new students). This Authorization is also required for students under the age of 18 who drive themselves to and from Masterpiece. Parents/guardians who elect not to give permission for his/her student to leave Masterpiece Studios are responsible for communicating this to his/her student.
DRESS CODE
DANCE: Leotard and tights are required during dance class for students to receive correct positioning in dance techniques. No midriffs should be shown at any time. Proper dance shoes are required to participate in class (required shoes are listed on the website, schedule and parent portal). Jewelry, gum, and street clothes are not permitted during dance class. Ballet skirts are optional. Hair should be worn away from the face. Hair should be worn in a bun (with no hang downs) for Ballet. Please label all shoes, dancewear, dance bags, coats, water bottles, etc. with the student's first and last name.
VISUAL ART: Students should wear old clothes. Some materials used in the studio might stain. All materials used are non toxic and safe, but if you or your child has any known allergies or medical conditions please let our staff know.
TUITION & FEES
ALL monthly tuition payments will be processed automatically on the 15th of each month by a pre-authorized auto bank draft from August 15th to May 15th. Tuition amounts are based on the number of classes in the school year not the number of classes in the month. Tuition has already been prorated to include holidays so your tuition is the same regardless of the number of classes in any given month. Tuition can be paid by the year or by the month, but it is understood that classes are for the entire 10-month school year. Tuition is not prorated for classes missed.
Costume and Performance fees are paid in 5 equal installments from October to February with your automatic bank draft. If you pay the year in full, your costume and performance fees are due by December 1st.
There are no fees for ACH. However, if payment is returned due to NSF (non-sufficient funds) a service charge of $25 per item is required to be paid within five (5) business days of notification.
Tuition, registration fees, art supply & gallery fees, and costume & performance fees are non-refundable. If you opted to pay tuition for the full year and you withdraw you can request studio credit for another class or camp.
SCHEDULE CHANGES
A student is allowed 1 schedule change per studio year. Additional change requests will result in a $15 administrative fee. Any schedule changes will only be made when a Schedule Change Request Form is completed. Please contact the studio to have this form emailed to you or complete the form on our website.
CLASS CANCELLATION DUE TO LOW ENROLLMENT
In the event Masterpiece Studios needs to cancel a class due to low enrollment you will have the option to transfer to another class or receive a full refund.
STUDENT WITHDRAWAL
If your child must withdraw from any class a 30-day written notice from the 15th of the month is required. Payments will stop processing after the 30 days. Please contact the studio directly for any withdrawals. Emails will be accepted. Withdrawals are not to be done through your teacher.
REFER A FRIEND
If you recommend a family to Masterpiece and they mention your name on the registration form you will receive a $25.00 credit on your account once they have completed three months of class. There is no limit to the number of families you can refer. So the more referrals, the more you save!
RELEASE OF LIABILITY
I acknowledge the risks and hazards of physical injury in training and performance and hereby assume all such risks and hazards; and I hereby release, waive and agree not to assert against Masterpiece Studios, its directors, teachers, officers, agents or employees, any claim for injury to said child in consequence of or incident to such training, performance or other Masterpiece Studios activities.
MEDICAL EMERGENCY
Unless written notice is given to the studio, permission is granted to Masterpiece Studios and its operators to seek medical treatment for the participant in the event they are not able to reach a parent or guardian OR it is believed medical attention is needed to prevent further injury or harm. However, Masterpiece Studios and its operators do not give medical care to students or others unless they believe medical attention is needed to prevent further injury or harm. Parent/Guardian must submit written notice for any physical/mental problems, restrictions, or conditions. Masterpiece Studios does not carry medical insurance for the students.
PHOTO WAIVER
I grant permission for Masterpiece Studios to use my child's picture in future advertising, literature, or in any web content Masterpiece Studios and events sponsored and conducted by them.
INCLEMENT WEATHER
In case of class cancellation due to inclement weather an email will be sent out and a message will be left on the voicemail. If more than two classes are cancelled due to inclement weather a make-up class will be rescheduled at a later date.
STATEMENT OF FAITH
Masterpiece Studios reserves the right to use Christian music and Biblical scriptures and teaching in their activities, including but not limited to, classes and performances.
